‘Sanctuary,’ 2022. Acrylics on canvas. 9 ft X 13 ft. Sanctuary, London, ON.
How can community insight help strengthen support systems?
The Sanctuary community came together to reflect on how the organization could evolve to better serve people experiencing housing instability.
As housing pressures grew in London, Ontario, Sanctuary recognized the need to revisit its mission. Through a creative engagement process, service users, staff, board members, and community members reflected on what makes a community strong. Participants contributed through interviews, drop-ins, workshops, and gatherings—co-creating a visual piece that uplifted shared experiences and helped guide the organization’s direction.
